SpencerSpencer Low, MBA’03

Co-President

Director, Strategy at Holt Renfrew

Spencer is Director, Strategy at Holt Renfrew, where he is working with senior executives on transformation and growth initiatives. Prior to Holt Renfrew, Spencer was Divisional Vice President of Strategy at Sears Canada, after being part of the Strategy team at Maple Leaf Foods. Spencer started his career at Bain & Company, where he had spent a total of nine years advising clients in consumer packaged goods, telecommunications, technology, transportation and private equity. He has extensive international experience, having been based in Chicago, Dallas, London, Tokyo, Shanghai, New Delhi, Singapore and Sydney.

Spencer was educated at the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris, where he graduated with distinction in Political Science and International Affairs, and obtained an MBA (Dean’s Honour List, Valedictorian) from the Richard Ivey School of Business in 2003.

Ian G Goshko
, CHRP, HBA’05

Management Consultant at Accenture

Ian is a Management Consultant at Accenture, specializing in Talent, Organization, and Change Management. Prior to joining Accenture, Ian was a National Recruitment Manager at Deloitte, where he managed full-cycle experienced hire recruitment. In addition, he worked on several National and Global HR Initiatives. Ian has more than 5 years of talent management, strategy, process, and acquisition experience in both the consulting and financial services industries.  He has extensive international experience, having lived and gone to school in the Middle East for 7 years in the 90s.

Ian earned his HBA (Dean’s Honour List) from the Richard Ivey School of Business and also hold his CHRP (Certified Human Resources Professional) designation.

EpsitEpsit Jajal , MBA’02

VP, Finance

Epsit joined the Toronto chapter committee three years ago and has since been actively involved with the development of the chapter’s governance model and organizing Alumni events (particularly in GTA West). Epsit took over the VP Finance role last year when his predecessor stepped down mid-term for work-related reasons, and he has agreed to serve another year. Epsit is a Certified Management Accountant and works as a consultant in the areas of Business Transformations, Performance Management, IT Strategy, Outsourcing and M&A integrations. He is currently leading the development and implementation of a new IT Strategic Plan for one of Ontario’s fastest growing municipalities.

KamanaKamana Tripathi, MBA’07

VP, Marketing

Manager, Strategic Initiatives and Business Development at TD Wealth Management

Kamana is a part of the Asset Management and Client Solutions group at TD Wealth, responsible for strategic initiatives and business development of the North American discretionary portfolio management business for HNW clients. She is also part of the steering committee for TD Wealth’s Women Strategy. Prior to this, she was Portfolio Manager at TD Securities, Treasury Credit, responsible for the credit analysis and credit risk management of Financial Institutions and Sovereign clients. She has also worked at TD’s Business Banking group and the Office of the Deputy Chair, Mr. Frank McKenna, along with Senior Advisor, General Rick Hillier. She was instrumental in organising the historic multi-city client appreciation event with Presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush. Kamana has extensive global experience, including over a decade in Hong Kong while working with Cathay Pacific Airways in roles that took her to 26 countries and spanned in-flight services, sales, customer experience, and communication.

Kamana received her MBA degree from Ivey’s Asian and Canadian campus collectively. She is also a graduate of the University of Bombay, where she received her B.Com degree from NM College of Commerce and Economics. In addition, she holds a pilot’s license from Australia.

HeatherHeather Payne, HBA’09

Director of Social Media

Director of Sales & Marketing, PinpointSocial

Heather is responsible for sales & marketing at a Toronto-based tech startup called PinpointSocial.com, an application that makes it easy for anyone to run professional looking promotions on Facebook Pages. In addition to managing the social media strategy of the Ivey Alumni Association, Toronto Chapter, she’s the founder of a recently-formed group called Ladies Learning Code. Each month, the group provide hands-on workshops for women who want to learn beginner-level computer programming skills in a friendly and social setting. TamarTamar Tepper, MBA’10

Tamar is a Management Consultant at Capco specializing in Wealth & Investment Management. At Capco, Tamar has worked on several strategic initiatives for a top-tier Global Retail and Institutional Banking client. Her recent engagements were focused on defining new strategic initiatives and designing a detailed roadmap for the wealth management arm of the organization. Prior to joining Capco, Tamar worked in the Investment Management and Custody Services Department at State Street Bank and Trust. As an Investment Manager Representative, she worked in a cross-functional manner in servicing a private hedge fund and an emerging markets mutual fund.

Tamar graduated with Honours Bachelor of Arts (Dean’s List) from York University and earned her MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business in 2010.

Haleel Sarwar, HBA’06

Director of Supporter Program

Capital Markets Consultant, Capco

In addition to being Director of the Supporter program, Haleel was a key member of the 2010 and 2011 organizing team for Global Ivey Day.

Haleel is a Management Consultant at Capco specializing in the Capital Markets practice. Currently, Haleel is engaged in a strategy and governance initiative to implement multiple regulatory reforms with a top-tier Canadian Bank. Before joining Capco, Haleel worked at BMO Capital Markets in their project delivery team and was instrumental in implementing enterprise wide reconciliation and compliance projects. For a major part of his career Haleel worked on the fixed income trading desk helping manage a multi-billion dollar fixed income portfolio for Central 1.

Haleel earned his HBA (Distinction) from the Richard Ivey School of Business, and obtained an MBA (Dean’s List) from the Schulich School of Business.

Alexa Kobayashi, HBA’08

For those who attended last year’s Global Ivey Day Gala and are interested to know what to expect this year, Alexa is the person to speak to since she’s the lead organizer of both! Alexa is in Business Development at Capital IQ, focusing on their Corporate and West Coast channels.

KamalKamal Gautam, MBA’04

Founder and CEO, Motif Consulting

Kamal is the founder and CEO of Motif Consulting Ltd, a company that provides business advisory and management services to clients in the biotechnology and IT industries.  Prior to that, he was President & CEO of BioQuest Innovations Inc., a biotech firm in the field of therapeutics commercialization services.  In that role, he provided operational management for BioQuest and its portfolio companies, and built BioQuest from founding to include a portfolio of 6 drug technologies and oversaw the development of the first technology to IND-readiness in preparation for its sale.

Kamal is also a partner at Actium Capital Advisors, an early- to mid-stage drug discovery fund manager and President of Red Iron Security Inc, which provides data security solutions to the health care industry.  He has led or played a major role in several private and public financing rounds, technology deals and company acquisitions, and negotiated license agreements, CRO and CMO contracts, and institutional research agreements.  His prior experience includes consulting with major clients in the financial services sector, and development and marketing with a software start-up company with customers in the financial services, higher educational and defense industries.

Kamal has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (Honours) from Ottawa University and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business.
