Delta 9 Cannabis has exploded onto the Winnipeg, Manitoba and Canadian business scene and ramping up their operations situated right here in Winnipeg. After being awarded the fourth license to grow cannabis from the Federal government in 2013, Bill Arbuthnot and his son, John, have built an organization of more than 150 employees focused on the medicinal and recreational markets not only here, but across Canada. In 2017, Delta 9 has constructed 28 of its self-designed ‘grow pods’, with the intended build out to include upwards of 600 grow pods in its current 80,000 square foot building in Winnipeg. Production capacity is expected to increase from the current 1,000 kilograms per year, to 17,000 kilograms of high grade cannabis by 2020 with the creation of 300 new jobs.

Delta 9 Cannabis is now traded on the TSX Venture markets under the symbol NINE. This event will be relevant to Ivey alumni who are interested in investing in the business, if you haven’t already! The Chief Executive Officer, John Arbuthnot, has been in the media frequently and is likely familiar to many of you. John and his team will provide a tour of their unique operations, tell their story and provide an opportunity for you to ask questions. It is going to be a good event - don’t miss it. There are limited spaces.
