Brenda Pearson, an Organizational & Career Happiness Coach and former MBA Director, Ivey Career Management, has this mission to normalize and amplify the conversations around the “Imposter Syndrome” within the corporate world. She specializes in helping individuals build up their confidence, battle their self-doubt so that ultimately individuals can bring their real and best self to work each day (most days anyway). With this in mind, she is delivering a workshop for Ivey alumni to start the conversation around this important topic:
- “I am going to get found out.”, “Others are far more qualified than I am.”or “I don’t belong here.” These are a few of the many phrases that those experiencing Imposter Syndrome have as part of their inner dialogue. Join this workshop where we will define and generate awareness of the Imposter Syndrome, share why it happens, normalize that this is not unique to one individual and provide a toolkit/resources to walk away to incorporate into their everyday life.
- Brenda Pearson shares her passion and research on this topic along with her personal and professional experiences coaching over 1000+ clients during the past two decades; most notably over a decade of experience coaching Ivey Business School’s MBA students.
- Normalizing and grounding this concept is a critical step one. To encourage action and change, one must understand that this phenomenon is quite common amongst their peers and other very successful individuals.
